DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Security and Law & Order Situation in Bandipora

Bandipora, November 10: Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat (IPS), visited Bandipora district on Monday to review the overall security situation, counter-terror operations — both kinetic and non-kinetic — and the law and order scenario in the district.
He was accompanied by Special DG (Coordination) PHQ J&K, S.J.M. Gillani (IPS), and Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi (IPS).
An official spokesperson of the Bandipora police said a comprehensive review meeting was held at the Conference Hall of District Police Lines (DPL) Bandipora, which was attended by SSP Bandipora Ajaz Ahmed Zargar (JKPS), Additional SP Bandipora, all SDPOs, and SHOs of the district.
During the meeting, the DGP assessed the prevailing security situation with special focus on ongoing counter-terrorism operations, anti-drug measures, and efforts to curb other criminal activities.
The officers briefed the DGP about the prevailing security situation in the district besides informing the chair about the measures being taken by the Bandipora Police for crime control, war against terrorism and Drug Abuse. They also informed DGP about the police public interactions that are regularly taking place for better coordination to deal with social menaces, terror and crimes.
On the occasion, DGP urged officers to maintain a high level of vigilance, discipline, and professionalism while discharging their duties.
The DGP directed the officers to intensify operations against anti-national elements and those involved in drug trafficking or criminal networks. He also emphasized the importance of community policing, inter-agency coordination, and public engagement to strengthen trust and ensure peace and stability across the district.
Spokesperson said the visit underlined the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s continued focus on maintaining law and order, combating terrorism, and fostering a safe and secure environment for the people of Bandipora.
