DG Rural Sanitation Chairs Meeting on First Day of Darbar Move at Jammu

Jammu | Nov 03: On the first day of the Darbar Move, Director General Rural Sanitation, Ms. Anoo Malhotra (JKAS), chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Directorate office, Jammu. The meeting focused on reviewing the routine functioning of the Directorate and assessing the status of ongoing works under various sanitation initiatives being implemented across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, the DG laid special emphasis on ensuring efficiency, transparency, and coordination among the district teams to accelerate the pace of implementation of programmes under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).

She directed all officers to maintain strict adherence to timelines, quality standards, and regular reporting mechanisms for effective monitoring and evaluation.

Ms. Malhotra reiterated the Government’s commitment to achieving Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus goals, strengthening Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) systems, and promoting behavioural change communication (IEC activities) at the grassroots level.

She further stressed upon the need for innovation, convergence with line departments, and active community participation to make sanitation efforts more impactful and sustainable.

The DG appreciated the efforts of field functionaries for their dedication and urged them to continue working with renewed energy.
