Bandipora, Jan 10: Delay in completing repair work on the Asham Iron Footbridge has triggered concern among local residents, who have urged authorities to expedite the remaining work to ensure public safety and convenience.
Residents said that several iron sheets on the footbridge were damaged a few days ago, causing inconvenience to daily commuters. While the damaged sheets were subsequently replaced, they pointed out that a portion of the repair work is still pending.
The locals have sought an explanation from the Executive Engineer, R&B Sumbal, regarding the delay and have appealed to the concerned department to take the issue seriously.
They have demanded that the pending work be taken up on a fast-track basis, warning that incomplete repairs could pose safety risks, particularly for pedestrians using the bridge daily.
