Defence Ministry Extends SPARSH Portal Deadline to Jan 31
Jammu, Jan 10: The Ministry of Defence has extended the deadline for annual identification of defence pensioners on the newly launched SPARSH portal from November 30, 2023, to January 31, 2024, allowing eligible pensioners more time to complete necessary documentation
This extension is applicable to all Defence Pensioners in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. The decision aims to facilitate a smoother process for pensioners, ensuring they have ample time to update their information and undergo the annual identification process.
PRO Jammu Lt Col Suneel Bartwal in a statement said that "In response to the evolving circumstances and to facilitate a smoother process for our esteemed defence pensioners, the Ministry of Defence has decided to extend the deadline for the annual identification of defence pensioners on newly SPARSH portal. The same is applicable for all Defence Pensioners of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh also".
He said that yhe original deadline, set for 30 Nov 2023, has now been extended to 31 Jan 2024. "This extension aims to ensure that all eligible pensioners have ample time to complete the necessary documentation and provide updated information for the annual identification process," he said, adding that this decision is part of the Ministry's ongoing commitment to streamlining administrative processes and providing the best support to our defence community. We understand the importance of timely and accurate record-keeping, and this extension aims to accommodate any unforeseen challenges pensioners may face in meeting the initial deadline.
"Pensioners are urged to take advantage of this extended period to complete their annual identification promptly. The Ministry remains dedicated to maintaining transparency and efficiency in pension-related matters, and this extension is a testament to our commitment to the welfare of our defence personnel. For further details and assistance, pensioners are encouraged to reach out to the designated helpline or visit the official Ministry of Defence website. In J&K, those pensioners whose annual identification has yet not been done, they may visit their nearest SPARSH SEVA KENDRA or DPDO under PCDA Northern Command for their annual identification. For identification, they must carry their Aadhaar Card, PPO Number, Bank Passbook and Mobile with them," he added.
