DDC Elections: 13 candidates in fray for 5th phase from Arin Panchayat block in Bandipora
Bandipora, Nov 26 : As many as thirteen candidates have submitted their nomination papers to contest the District Development Council (DDC) elections from Aloosa Panchayat block in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district for 5th phase.
Official sources saidthat 13 candidates have submitted nomination papers to contest the upcoming DDC elections during the 5th phase from Arin Panchayat block.
Arin block will go for polls on December 10 during the 5th phase of DDC polls across Jammu and Kashmir. An official said that notification for Arin block was issued on November 16 while the last date for submitting the nomination papers and withdrawing the same was November 23 and 26 respectively.
A total of 15 candidates had filed their nominations from Arin block, however, two candidates withdrew their nominations today.
The official said that now 13 candidates are in fray of which 10 candidates will be contesting the polls “independently” while rest three candidates will be contesting the polls on their respective party tickets.
Notably, the PAGD has fielded a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate from this block as part of the seat-sharing pact of the alliance while the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party and the BJP have also fielded a candidate each from the same block—(KNO)
