Bandipora, March 09: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shakeel-ur-Rehman Rather on Saturday imposed a ban on entry of heavy vehicles in the main market during day time.
In an order issued soon after an elderly person was crushed to death by a CRPF Vehicle, the Deputy Commissioner ordered that no heavy vehicle shall be allowed to ply through main market Bandipora from Nusso to Nowpora from 9:00AM to 06:00 PM. The heavy vehicles shall instead take the Nusso route.
Deputy Commissioner directed ARTO Bandipora, Executive Officer Municipal Council Bandipora and In-Charge Traffic Police Bandipora to ensure compliance of the directions and make adequate arrangements in this regard.
Earlier a delegation of Bandipora traders called on the Deputy Commissioner and demanded imposition of a ban on heavy vehicles during day time in the market that has caused several accidents in the town in the past.
