DC conducts extensive tour of Bandipora tehsil, inspects institutions and public facilities

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 02: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today undertook a comprehensive tour of Bandipora Tehsil to assess the functioning of various key institutions and public facilities.

The visit commenced with an inspection of the Block Medical Office Bandipora and the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC). CMO and BMO were directed to manage the office in a manner that ensures the timely availability of medicinal supplies.

DC also visited the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and Polytechnic College Bandipora to review the training infrastructure and facilities available for students. During interaction with the staff, she underlined the importance of strengthening skill development initiatives to empower youth with industry-relevant competencies. She emphasized that merely offering diploma or certificate courses without practical exposure would not serve the purpose.

Later, DC inspected the Auditorium at Kaloosa and took stock of the amenities available for public events and cultural programmes. She instructed the concerned officials to ensure regular maintenance and effective utilization of the facility for community-centric activities.

The visit also included an inspection of the Dak Bungalow at Ayathmulla, where DC reviewed the infrastructure from the perspective of necessary repairs. It was observed that, to ensure optimal use of such buildings, a strategy for introducing a pay-and-use model needs to be adopted.
