DC Bandipora interacts with Numberdars, Chowkidars on Drug Abuse Prevention

Bandipora, April 30: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib on Thursday held an interaction with Numberdars and Chowkidars at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat to discuss measures for curbing drug abuse and strengthening community participation in the anti-drug campaign across the district.

During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts by the administration, police, teachers, parents, and community representatives in eradicating the menace of drug abuse. She stated that the administration is working round the clock to address public concerns and ensure effective implementation of preventive measures.

During the interaction, participants appreciated the Deputy Commissioner’s concern for the district and stated that responsibility for tackling social issues cannot rest on the government alone, adding that society must also play its role. They thanked the Deputy Commissioner for providing them an opportunity to share their views and observed that such interactions strengthen coordination between the administration and the community.

The participants also highlighted various public concerns and assured full support to the administration in the fight against drug abuse and in maintaining peace and social harmony in the district.

On the sidelines of the interaction, Numberdars from various areas raised issues related to delayed honorarium and highlighted concerns regarding its timely disbursement.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the importance of community outreach programmes in strengthening public participation and ensuring better coordination between citizens and the administration.
