Crime Branch Books Three Employees of Jammu Flour Mills for Multi-Crore Embezzlement
Jammu, Jan 20: The Crime Branch (CB) of Jammu has booked three employees of M/S Jammu Flour Mills for allegedly embezzling between ₹2 to ₹2.5 crores by committing criminal breach of trust and executing a well-orchestrated fraud.
An official spokesperson of the CB said the case came to light after Arun Mahajan, Managing Partner of M/S Jammu Flour Mills, filed a complaint alleging financial irregularities by three employees: Dikshant Anand (Area Salesman), Narinder Chopra (Billing Clerk), and Amit Sharma (Accountant).
In September 2024, Operations Manager Moti Lal flagged suspicious billing activities involving Narinder Chopra. Following this, a self-audit by the complainant uncovered multiple fraudulent transactions, which were later substantiated by a comprehensive audit conducted by a chartered accountant.
The audit revealed that the accused had devised a systematic modus operandi. They manipulated NEFT transactions to divert funds to unrelated parties, under-billed cash transactions, and created fake parties to embezzle funds. For instance, bills amounting to ₹1 lakh were reduced to ₹80,000, with the difference misappropriated. Accountant Amit Sharma manipulated account entries, enabling the fraud to go unnoticed for an extended period.
Moreover, Dikshant Anand allegedly created fake accounts and sold goods to multiple retailers under fictitious names. He also recovered book debts and embezzled the amounts. Payments from the company were transferred to bank accounts belonging to the accused, their family members, and acquaintances.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh, confirmed that FIR No. 06/2025 under sections 409, 465, 467, 468, 470, 471, 472, and 120-B of the IPC has been registered at Police Station EOW, Crime Branch Jammu.
The accused, identified as Dikshant Anand (resident of Rehamble, Udhampur), Narinder Chopra (resident of Lakhdata Bazar, Jammu), and Amit Sharma (resident of Preet Nagar, Jammu), are under investigation, and an in-depth probe has been initiated to uncover further details of the alleged conspiracy.
