Bandipora, Feb 25: Chief Planning Officer Bandipora Imtiyaz Ahmad on Saturday expressed best wishes to Sabkat Malik from Bandipora for representing the country at International Ju-Jitsu Competition in Thailand.
He also congratulated and felicitated coach Muzaffar Ahmad a young sports person for his efforts to polish the skills of the younger generation in the field of sports.
Imitiyaz Ahmad said the competition is a significant achievement for Sabkat, and it is matter of pride in seeing young people from Bandipore region excel in various fields.
He said Bandipora has yet again proved its mettle in the field of sports and has added one more feather in its crown.
He said the district administration under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad is committed to promote the sports activities and over the years it has upgraded the sports infra in the district.
He said playgrounds have been developed in each village besides distribution of sports kits and organsiation of tournaments in different sports under the Khelo India campaign. He said to eradicate the drug menace from the district, the administration has also devised a plan to involve youth in productive activities including that of sports under Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.
