Srinagar, Sep 04: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed several key issues concerning the Union Territory, including restoration of Statehood and rationalisation of reservations.
The meeting also covered the finalisation of the Transaction of Business Rules and other matters related to public welfare and development, the Office of the Chief Minister said.
In a post on X, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Chief Minister’s Office said the meeting focused on “restoration of Statehood, finalisation of the Transaction of Business Rules, rationalisation of reservations” and other important issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister also briefed the Union Home Minister about the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK), which is scheduled to begin in Srinagar next week.
Omar also thanked Shah for the timely assistance being extended to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of flood-related damage reported from several areas.
The meeting comes amid the J&K government’s continued efforts for restoration of Statehood and resolution of other key issues concerning the Union Territory.—(KNO)
