Chemists Association Hajin Holds Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse

Hajin, May 5: Chemists and Distributors Association Hajin (CADAH) on Tuesday organised an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Town Hall, Municipal Committee Hajin, to sensitise stakeholders about the rising threat of drug abuse.

Assistant Drug Controller Bandipora–Ganderbal Shabir Ahmad attended the event as Chief Guest, while Imtiyaz Parray, Nisar Ahmad, Senior Lecturer Shakir Shafi, SHO Hajin Mir Saleem and CADA President Shabaz Ahmad Mir were present as guests of honour.

The programme saw participation from officials of the Health and Drugs Control Departments, along with members of the association and other stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Shabir Ahmad emphasised the need for a coordinated response to curb drug abuse and highlighted key regulatory measures being implemented under UT and District NCORD guidelines.

These include installation of CCTV cameras at medical shops, adoption of computerised billing systems and strict enforcement of prescription-based sale of Schedule H and H1 drugs to prevent misuse.

Speakers stressed that adherence to regulations, coupled with awareness and collective responsibility, is crucial to tackling the growing drug menace and safeguarding public health.
