Chairman DLSA Bandipora Reviews Preparations for 2nd National Lok Adalat

Bandipora, May 20: In view of the upcoming 2nd National Lok Adalat, now scheduled for May 31, the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora and Principal District and Sessions Judge, Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, chaired a preparatory meeting today with all Judicial Officers of the district.

The meeting was held to review and streamline preparations for the Lok Adalat and was attended by Sushil Singh (Additional District & Sessions Judge), Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon (Chief Judicial Magistrate), Sheikh Babar Hussain (Secretary DLSA), Amandeep Singh (Additional Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate), Rahila Rashid (Munsiff/JMIC, Sumbal), and Mehak Mehboob (Munsiff/JMIC, Gurez).

Key discussions focused on identifying cases suitable for amicable settlement. Chairman DLSA directed judicial officers to thoroughly verify records and prioritize old pending matters for resolution during the National Lok Adalat. He also instructed that pre-Lok Adalat conciliation sessions be conducted in advance to provide parties with a platform for negotiated settlements.

Emphasizing the significance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms, Mr. Choudhary said the National Lok Adalat is an opportunity to reduce case pendency and deliver swift, cost-effective justice.

Judicial officers shared inputs and formulated a detailed action plan to ensure smooth and effective execution of the Lok Adalat across all courts in the district.

The Chairman also underscored the need to encourage settlement of pre-litigation matters and directed that interested parties be informed and facilitated. In this regard, DLSA Bandipora has invited all individuals willing to resolve their disputes through the Lok Adalat to approach the office of the Secretary, DLSA Bandipora, on any working day from today onwards.

The National Lok Adalat initiative is aimed at promoting access to justice and fostering amicable settlements outside the conventional litigation process.
