Gulmarg, May 25: A rescue operation was launched in Gulmarg after several tourists became stranded in cable car cabins following a technical fault in the ropeway system on Sunday afternoon.
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir started that he is personally monitoring the situation and has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to immediately proceed to the site.
A joint rescue operation involving the Police, Army, SDRF, along with district administration officials including the DC and SSP, is currently underway to ensure the safe evacuation of all stranded tourists.
Authorities said all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the tourists.
