Budgam, April 23: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Budgam Police carried out a comprehensive inspection drive of medical shops across various locations in District Budgam to ensure strict adherence to government regulations and prevent the misuse of pharmaceutical drugs.
During the drive, joint teams comprising officers from various Police Stations, Police Posts, and Drug Control authorities conducted thorough inspections. The teams examined stock registers, sale and purchase records, valid licenses, and other mandatory documentation maintained by medical shop owners.
During an inspection in the Soibugh area, one medical shop was sealed by the Drug Inspector in the presence of the Incharge Police Post Soibugh for alleged violations of drug control norms.
The drive aimed to identify irregularities and curb the illegal sale and misuse of medicines, particularly controlled and prescription drugs, which can contribute to substance abuse, especially among the youth. All medical shop owners were instructed to strictly comply with regulatory norms and maintain proper records.
Budgam Police reiterated that such joint inspection drives will continue under the ongoing initiative to ensure accountability, promote lawful practices, and safeguard public health and safety.
