BSF Marks 79th Independence Day with 79-Cyclist ‘Trinagar Rally’ from Bandipora to Srinagar
Bandipora, Aug 12: On the eve of the 79th Independence Day, the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Bandipora organised a “Trinagar Cycle Rally” under the theme Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, flagged off the rally from Bandipora. A total of 79 cyclists from various districts, including DIG BSF Bandipora, participated in the event, covering a distance of 79 kilometers to Srinagar.
The rally was held to mark the 79th Independence Day and convey the message of national unity.
Ulfat, a participant from Baramulla, said, “We are participating in this rally to celebrate the 79th Independence Day. This event reflects the unity of our nation.”
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the BSF for organising the event. SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta, DIG BSF N.K. Babu, and officials from civil and defence departments were also present.
The event brought together participants from different backgrounds and encouraged citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes from August 13 to 15. Participants chanted slogans including “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Har Ghar Tiranga Ghar Ghar Tiranga,” and “Tiranga Hamari Shaan Hai Bharat Ki Pehchan Hai,” spreading awareness about the significance of the national flag.
The rally also reiterated citizens’ commitment to independence, unity, and democracy, and honoured the sacrifices of freedom fighters symbolised by the Tiranga.
