Breaking the chains: Confronting the Domestic Violence

Domestic violence, also known as private partner violence, is a pattern of rude behaviour that occurs within a domestic or familial relationship. It can be caused by the use of physical, sexual, or emotional force by one person against another to gain power and control over them. Domestic violence can occur between mates, partners, parents and children, siblings, or any individual living in a household.
Domestic violence can occur in any gender male as well as females. Most of the times domestic violence primarily affects women, but it is essential to acknowledge that men can also be victim of domestic violence. Domestic violence against men refers to acts of physical, sexual, emotional, or psychological abuse perpetrated by a current or former close partner.
While the domestic violence cases in men are stubby , But unfortunately men was not supported like women . Due to social and cultural factors, men may be less likely to report incidents of domestic violence, making it challenging to obtain accurate statistics on the subject. Men who experience domestic violence may face barriers in seeking help, such as societal expectations of masculinity, fear of not being believed, or concerns about being stigmatized or ridiculed.
Here are some types of domestic violence in our society:
1. Physically: physical force should be used to cause harm, injury, or pain. It can be in the form of hitting, slapping, punching, kicking, or any other form of physical assault.
2. Sexual harassment: Forcing partners to have sex without their partners' consent. It can involve rape, sexual assault, forced participation in sexual acts, or any form of sexual breakup.
3.Economic: That means controlling your partners' financial assets, making them financially dependent, and limiting their resources or economic opportunities. It can involve withholding money, preventing employment or education, or controlling financial decisions.
4.Stalking: This includes repeated and unwanted attention or harassment, both in person and through various means such as phone calls, text messages, emails, or social media. Stalking behaviours can cause fear, depression, and anxiety in a person.
Over all of these consequences retraining to domestic violence these are some basic strategies which can help us to cope this social evil.
01. Ensure immediate safety: If you’re in dangeryou can call emergency services in your country right away. Your safety should always be your top priority.
02. Reach for support: Talk to somebody you trust, such as a close friend, family member, , about what you’re experiencing.
03. Document incidents: Keep a record of any incidents of domestic violence, including dates, times, and descriptions of what occurred.
04. Develop a safety plan: Work with a professional or a support organization to create a safety plan tailored to your situation. This plan may include steps to protect yourself during violent incidents.
05. Seek counselling or therapy: Consider engaging in individual counselling or therapy to help you process your experiences, build resilience, and develop coping strategies. A trained professional can provide you with the necessary support and guidance.
06. Build a support network: Surround yourself with people who can provide support and understanding. Social welfare committee's canprovide empathy, share resources, and offer valuable insights.
