Bollywood Actor Huma Qureshi’s Cousin Stabbed to Death in Delhi Over Parking Dispute
New Delhi, August 8:
A man identified as Asif Qureshi, cousin of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, was fatally attacked in South East Delhi’s Jangpura area following a heated argument over scooter parking, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night around 10:30 pm in the Bhogal locality, where the victim, 42, lived. Police said the confrontation escalated when one of the two accused stabbed Asif in the chest with a sharp object, leading to his death on the spot.
Police have arrested both suspects, identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18), and registered a case under FIR No. 233/25. The murder has been booked under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is ongoing.
In a separate case in the capital, a 50-year-old woman was found murdered in her house in the Ranhola area earlier this week. The deceased, identified as Kiran Jha, was discovered dead at her residence, which she shared with her daughter-in-law Kamal Jha, granddaughter, and son Durgesh Jha.
Police suspect her estranged husband, Parmod Jha, 60, as the prime accused. According to officials, Parmod had returned to Delhi on August 1 after spending nearly 10 years in his native village, Chidiabad in Bihar’s Munger district. The couple had been living apart for a decade.
Durgesh, the victim’s son, is currently employed with a microfinance firm in Darbhanga, Bihar. During the inquiry, Kamal told investigators that Parmod had been out of contact with the family and was not working.
Police sources said CCTV footage from a camera installed outside the residence captured the accused leaving the premises around 12:50 am, just hours before the crime was reported at 4:09 am via PCR.
