Bandipora, April 5: Government Boys Middle School (BMS) Guzerbal on Saturday observed the death anniversary of noted Kashmiri poet Ghulam Ahmad Mehjoor with a commemorative programme held on the school premises.
The event was organised to pay tribute to the poet, who is widely recognised for his contribution to Kashmiri literature and cultural heritage.
Teachers and students participated in the programme, which began with a session highlighting Mehjoor’s life, literary works and his role in shaping social thought through poetry.
Students recited selected poems of Mehjoor during the event, focusing on themes of love, unity and social harmony reflected in his writings.
Speakers on the occasion discussed the continued relevance of Mehjoor’s literary contributions and encouraged students to engage with Kashmiri literature and cultural traditions.
The Headmaster of the school appreciated the participation of students and teachers and stressed the importance of preserving literary and cultural heritage through educational initiatives.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
