BMS Gamroo Kick-starts Fortnight-long Sewa Parv Celebrations

Bandipora, Sept 17: Boys Middle School (BMS) Gamroo, Bandipora, on Wednesday launched the Sewa Parv fortnight with a vibrant inaugural programme marked by enthusiastic participation of students and staff.

The activities, which began on September 17, will continue till October 2, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Head of Institution Ruqiya Mumtaz, who formally declared the programme open. Staff members including Javid Ahmad Raina, Bilal Ahmad, and Mir Ramiz were also present on the occasion.

Officials said the objective of the fortnight-long campaign is to inculcate among students the values of responsibility, service, discipline, and national consciousness, with special emphasis on spreading the message of a Clean Bharat, Tobacco-Free Bharat, and Drug-Free Bharat.

The programme began with the administration of a Cleanliness Pledge, where students and staff took an oath to maintain personal hygiene, keep their surroundings clean, and contribute to the larger goal of a cleaner nation. The pledge was followed by a Cleanliness Drive in and around the school premises, in which students actively participated, setting an example of civic responsibility for the community.

Staff members motivated students to remain engaged throughout the fortnight and carry the message of cleanliness, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle to their homes and neighbourhoods. The school premises reverberated with an atmosphere of zeal, service, and national pride.

With this energetic beginning, BMS Gamroo has lined up a series of activities under Sewa Parv that will continue till October 2, reinforcing the values of service, awareness, and nation-building, officials said.
