Pampore, August 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit of Pampore on Tuesday organised a grand Tiranga Rally in the Saffron town, which saw enthusiastic participation from both BJP workers and local residents.
The rally was led by BJP Pulwama District President, Engineer Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi and District General Secretary Mohammad Asif Ganaie along with several other party members and huge number of party workers and local youth.
Starting from Tanchibagh Pampore, the rally moved along the old Srinagar–Jammu National Highway, passing through Namblabal, Kadlabal, Galander and Drangbal Pampore. Participants waved the national flag and raised spirited slogans in favour of the country’s unity, integrity, and prosperity.
Speaking on the occasion BJP said the purpose of the Tiranga Rally was to further strengthen the spirit of national unity, brotherhood, and patriotism among the people. They added that the day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by martyrs for freedom and inspires the resolve to serve the nation with dedication.
Local residents warmly welcomed the BJP leaders and participants during the rally. The area was decorated with tricolour flags and banners, giving it a vibrant national look.
Talking to Kashmir Convener, District President Pulwama, Er Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, said this rally was organised to send a clear message to those who had pushed Jammu and Kashmir to the brink of ruin. “Our answer is that every individual in Kashmir loves India. We are Indians, and India belongs to us,” he declared.
Showkat Gayoor added, “The Tiranga is our pride, honour, and life, and respecting it is the duty of every citizen. This is also a direct response to those who claimed that no one in Kashmir would hold the national flag. Today, the world can see how every individual here proudly holds the Tiranga and cherishes it deeply.”
