Bizarre! 17 employees of DH Bandipora found absent from duties on Tuesday

Bandipora, 01 Feb: As many as 17 employees including six doctors and other paramedics were found absent From duties on Tuesday during a surprise inspection by Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora Dr Sheikh Mushtaq .

All the absent employers have been put on notice and show cause notices have been issued to them besides deducting one day salary from them.

According to order issued on Tuesday, a copy of which is in possession of Kashmir Convener, the Medical Superintendent conducted a surprise check of various wards of the hospital at 11:50 am and found 17 employees absent including six doctors and other paramedic staff.

MS DH Bandipora said the absence has badly affected the patient care and issued notice to absent employers asking them to explain their position within 24 hours failing which their case will be forwarded to higher authorities for action as per services rules for dereliction of duties.

The medical superintendent also directed to deduct one day salary from each employee as a punishment. He said the administration won't tolerate any abseentism and warned of strict action against such attitude of the doctors and paramedic staff.

Earlier concerned citizens raised the issue of frequent abseentism of doctors from duties in various social forums that has badly affected the health care system.
