Srinagar, Jan 01: Senior PDP leader and former legislator Nizamuddin Bhat has lashed out at power development department for failing to provide uninterrupted power supply to the residents of Bandipora.

Bhat in a statement said that PDD has completely failed to deliver and thousands of consumers have been made to suffer for want of electricity in the area. "Though the district administration has been alarming the government from time to time regarding the worsening power scenario in Bandipora, the Governor's administration has not responded well, " he said.

He said that the power crisis in Bandipora is increasing with each passing day, particularly due to the non-commissioning of Putushai grid station.  "It has been more than a decade now that PDD has failed to commission the grid station which is a serious lapse at the cost of public and consumers, " Bhat said.

He said, "Because of the lack of electricity, Bandipora has been economically deprived as consumers, industrialists and entrepreneurs are suffering due to power crisis."

He said that he will be forced to sit on Sharma outside the Raj Bhavan if proper power to Bandipora is not restored. "I will travel to Jammu and sit on Sharma outside the Raj Bhavan if proper power is not restored to Bandipora within 15 days," Bhat said.
