Bastion Cricket Academy Lifts 3rd Open Kashmir T20 Cricket Tournament in Bandipora.

Bandipora, December 17:- Bastion Cricket Academy Ganderbal clinched 3rd Open Kashmir T20 Cricket Tournament title defeating rivals Sultan Warriors by 19 runs here in North Kashmir's Sher I Kashmir Sports Ground in Bandipora district.

Earlier, after winning the toss Bastion Cricket Academy Ganderbal opted to bat, while batting first BCA Opening pair gave good start. Adil Zahoor and Irfan played some good cricketing shots who scored 43 runs initially. BCA played brilliantly in their innings and posted a good total of 161 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. 

Adil Zahoor was the highest scorer who played a knock of 59 while as Shakeel Ahmad made 40 runs for BCA team. For Sultan Warriors Hilal Ahmad was the highest wicket taker who took three crucial wickets.

In reply, while chasing the target of 162 runs posted by BCA team, Sultan Warriors could only manage to chase down 142 runs. It was team skipper Mohsin Ramzan who was the highest scorrer making 44 runs before he was caught at point which turned the game. For Bastion Cricket Academy Adil, Haroon, and Tariq took two wickets each.

Adil Zahoor from Baston Academy grabbed player of the final match award for his all round show and Jehangir Lone was declared as player of the tournament.

The winning team was given a cash cheque of one lac rupees and trophy while as runners up team was given seventy thousand rupees cash and trophy.

The final match was first time live streamed on Facebook page of Jk Sportstime with both English and Urdu Commentary by Young Nasir Dar and Irshad Payer who attracted a good no of people on facebook.  

Every year the tournament is being organised by Hashmee Cricket Club Bandipora under the supervision of District Cricket Forum Bandipora with an aim to promote local talent to higher platforms.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of Final Ceremony both the captains appreciated the role of organising committee for organising such a beautiful tournament and offered every support to make turf in the ground. They thanked sports lovers for supporting them throughout the tournament and said in future they will come and participate in tournaments in future as well.
