Bandiporian girl publishes book “No Women with Flaws”

Bandipora, 22 Feb: Shah Shabeena Showkat, a 23-year-old young writer from the Kaloosa area of Bandipora, has portrayed the everlasting pain of women in society in her maiden book titled "No women with Flaws” – a book about pain and agony of a woman.
Shabeena said this book is about the suffering of women and their perpetual pain. The author has tried to investigate the capability approach of women empowerment, she mentions “a woman at any age can transform their lives, and all they need to do is not give up. Highlighting the gender equality author says both men and women are equal, none is superior or inferior to others.
Reflecting the lack of gender voice the author says that a woman always lacks the source of social expression.
Author says in her maiden book that a woman’s limited vocabulary falls women into an experiential prejudice, which lowers their status and influence within the household. To maintain their identity within the culture, which frequently encourages violence against women, they ultimately pay a horrible price, "she said.
Shabeena, a young author is currently pursuing her post graduation in English literature from Kashmir University, and was interested in writing from an early age.
She belongs from Kaloosa area of Bandipora district where people have limited access to gender issues especially a woman who hardly makes it to an average educational status.
She has cleared her schooling from space age model school kaloosa Bandipora and has done her bachelors from HKM degree college Bandipore in arts stream.
Her father, Showkat Ahmad, a businessman, has always been there for her.
The young author makes an effort to write for the betterment of society. Her interests include reading,writing and painting.
She writes primarily about social topics that are prevalent in society.
Shabeena is an avid gender activist who is working for the empowerment of a women folk in view of capability approach.
“Women in the Kashmir valley are suffering silently, and they are unable to share their pain and grief with anyone. As a result, they are getting involved in depression, which leads to various diseases. I would suggest to the women folk of Kashmir to get and become their advocates and fight for your rites” Shabeena Said
She believes in self sustenance and capability and urges women to stand up against all odds they are facing.
My journey in the field of literature was not as easy as it seems.It was like walking on a thorny road with embers, ups and downs, struggles coming in each and every step of life. I have struggled in this field, but it is said that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.As a writer, you should believe in your writing. I have a great passion for writing”
Shabeena said She is not a born writer,but the situation made her one,her sufferings made her one,her thoughts made her one.
Shabeena also wants to become a civil service officer in future.
She said “ I believe that unless and until the woman can’t stand on her own, no one will help her.
