The award ceremony, held in Srinagar, was attended by dignitaries from various sectors, including Dr. Darakhsha Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, who was present as a special guest.

The Uttam Bharat Puraskar, one of the country’s leading national honours, is awarded annually to individuals who have demonstrated exemplary service and professional excellence in their respective fields.

Beyond sports, Kawa played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic, actively distributing essential supplies and food kits to underserved communities. His efforts during the crisis earned him widespread admiration as a frontline volunteer working selflessly for public welfare.

Speaking at the event, Kawa expressed gratitude to the Global Human Rights Trust for the recognition and credited his team, mentors, and students for their support. “This honor strengthens my resolve to continue working for the people and to uphold the true spirit of martial arts and social service,” he said.
