Bandipora Teacher Farah Deeba Trained in Culture-Based Learning at CCRT Hyderabad

Only female nominee from Bandipora completed 498th orientation course focusing on integrating culture into modern education

Bandipora, March 6: Farah Deeba, a teacher from Bandipora district, has successfully completed the 498th orientation course conducted by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) in Hyderabad under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) is one of the premier institutions working in the field of linking education with culture thus contributing to the strengthening of the foundation of the nation by making education culture based and meaningful.

The training program, held from February 6 to February 26, 2025, focused on innovative teaching methods and cultural integration in education.

Deeba, currently serving at Government Middle School Sonerwani, was the only female nominated for the program from Bandipora district by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora.

The training covered various aspects of modern education, including culture-based learning, art-integrated teaching, multidisciplinary education, 21st-century skills, digital education, and holistic student development.

Speaking about her experience, Deeba said the course provided her with new perspectives on teaching and emphasized the importance of fostering students’ overall growth. She highlighted the crucial role of the Ministry of Culture and CCRT in shaping educators to become more effective mentors.

Expressing gratitude to the organizers, faculty, and fellow trainees, she stated that the interactive sessions and discussions during the course significantly enriched her professional skills. She hopes to implement these learnings in her teaching approach, benefiting students and contributing to the educational landscape of Bandipora.

She said such workshops revitalizes the education system by creating an understanding and awareness among teachers, students and educational administrators about the plurality of the regional cultures of the society and integrating this knowledge with education.

Farah Deeba added that the training programme provides an understanding and appreciation of the philosophy, aesthetics and beauty inherent in Indian art and culture and focus on formulating methodologies for incorporating a cultural component in curriculum teaching. “The role of culture in science and technology, housing, agriculture, sports i.e. in all aspects of development and growth was emphasised in the workshop that was in line with the NEP guidelines”.
