BANDIPORA, AUGUST 31: Bandipora Police seized five vehicles, including three tippers, a tractor and a JCB, during a crackdown on illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minor minerals in Ajas Sumbal.
Police teams from Police Post Ajas conducted surprise checks at vulnerable locations following specific inputs about illegal mining activities, leading to the seizure of the vehicles.
Legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, while further investigation is underway.
Bandipora Police warned that strict action would be taken against persons involved in illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minor minerals. Police also urged the public to report such activities to the nearest police station.
