Bandipora, February 02:- Bandipora Police on Tuesday claimed to have recovered illicit timber being smuggled and arrested the accussed smuggler.
An official spokesperson said Bandipora police recieved a specific information regarding movement of timber smugglers in Aloosa area.
He said acting on this information a police party led by I/C PP Aloosa SI Mohmmad Mushtaq under Supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora Idrees Ahmad, laid a surprise naka at Aloosa chowk.
During checking one vehicle bearing registation no JK01K-4964 was stopped and during checking large quantity of illicit forest timber was recovered from said vehicle.
The accused who is a notorious timber smuggler identified as Mudasir Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Yousf Dar R/o Illahipora Aloosa has been arrested on spot and vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
In this regard case FIR under relevant sections of IPC and Forest Act has been registered in police station Bandipora. Further investigation of the Case is going on.
