Bandipora Police constitutes SIT to probe rape incident

Bandipora, 15 April: The Bandipora Police on Monday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by an officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police to investigate the gruesome Chitteybandy rape case.
In a shocking incident 27 year-old girl was raped by her father belonging to chitteybandy village of Bandipora.
Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora Rahul Malik said that SIT has been constituted to probe rape case on fast track basis and will be headed by DySP (Headquarters).
He said the Police swung into action as soon as they received the complaint and started the investigation. He said they have arrested the prime accused and the further investigation is going on.
He said the SIT has been constituted to investigate the matter thoroughly in the time bound manner so that the culprits are brought to justice. Malik said they will recommend the case to be heard in fast track court for speedy justice and assured the people that none of the culprits will be spared.
