Bandipora Police Commemorates 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with a Series of Events Celebrating Unity, Integrity, and National Harmony

Bandipora, October 31: As the nation celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, Bandipora Police organised a series of vibrant and meaningful events at the District Police Lines (DPL) Bandipora to mark the occasion. The celebrations, held under the banner of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, local residents, and police personnel — all coming together to honour one of the greatest architects of modern India.

The day began with a solemn Ekta Pledge Ceremony, where officers and participants reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, and national security. This was followed by an energetic Run for Unity, symbolising the collective resolve to strengthen the spirit of togetherness envisioned by Sardar Patel for a united India.

Cultural performances, patriotic songs, and inspiring speeches by students and officers added colour and emotion to the event, reflecting the community’s deep sense of pride and patriotism.

Speaking on the sidelines, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, Shri Ajaz Ahmad Zargar (JKPS), highlighted the enduring relevance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision in today’s times.

“Sardar Patel’s contribution in integrating the princely states and laying the foundation of a united India continues to inspire generations. Through these programmes, we aim to instil in our youth the values of unity, harmony, and collective strength — the same ideals that guided Sardar Patel’s vision,” SSP Bandipora said.

He added that Bandipora Police remains committed to promoting peace, brotherhood, and social cohesion through sustained community engagement and awareness initiatives.

“Unity is our greatest strength as a nation, and events like these remind us of our shared responsibility to preserve that unity,” he said.

Locals and participants lauded the efforts of Bandipora Police, describing the celebrations as a meaningful bridge between the nation’s historical legacy and the aspirations of its younger generations.

The event concluded with a symbolic display of national flags and patriotic slogans echoing across the DPL Bandipora, as participants pledged to uphold Sardar Patel’s ideals in letter and spirit.
