Bandipora Police arrests Seven, realized Rs 34550 fine, seizes 22 vehicles for defying corona curfew
Bandipora, May 17: Bandipora police on Monday continued its drive to impose corona curfew in the district and booked several violators of the orders besides penalising and seizing vehicles.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, Bandipora Police Spokesperson said with an aim to create effective deterrence against COVID-19 Virus and penalise the violators of Corona lockdown, Police on Monday challaned 309 persons and realised a fine of Rs 34550. He said 22 vehicles were also seized for defying government orders while 07 persons were also arrested for defying the lockdown orders / COVID-19 SOPs across the district. "Moreover 01 FIR was also registered against the violators".
He said the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs will continuously be carried out throughout the district to ensure that people adhere to guidelines envisaged by government and health department to stop the pandemic from spreading further.
The Bandipora Police requested people not to come out of their homes unnecessarily and "If in case of any emergency, follow all Covid SOPs strictly, besides cooperate with the Police and district administration in containing the spread of Coronavirus for the safety of all".
