Bandipora 04 January: Bandipora police Tuesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler from Nowpora chowk and recovered contraband drugs from his possession.
An official spokesperson said acting on a specific information regarding movement of a drug peddlers a special naka was laid at Nowpora chowk by a police team led by SHO Bandipora Inspector Rayees Ahmad under the supervision of DYSP HQRS Bandipora Mohammad Idrees.
During checking one suspicious person was arrested and during search 28 Strips of contraband drug Proxywell Spas & Sposmoproxyvan Plus were recovered. The accused person identified as Ghulam Mustafa Fafoo S/o Ghulam Nabi Fafoo R/o Ashtango Ghat was arrested.
During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the accused were supplying drugs to youths of the area to make them drug addicts. Accordingly Case FIR No.02/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up.
Bandipora Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help police in eradicating the menace of drugs.
