Bandipora, 28 Jan: Bandipora police on Friday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
An official spokesperson said continuing its war against the menace of drugs today arrested a drug peddler at Aloosa and recovered contraband drugs from his possession.
He said acting on a specific information regarding movement of drugs peddlers ,a police party led by I/C Police Post Aloosa PSI Mohd Mushtaq, under the supervision of DYSP HQRs Bandipora Mohammad Idrees laid a surprise naka at Kanbathi Kehnusa and during checking suspicious movement of a person was noticed and he was apprehended and upon his personal search 1190 tablets of Manzipam 0.25 , 56 Capsules of Spasmoparyvon and Charas weighing about 50 grams were recovered from his possession.
The accused has been identified as wassem Raja Reshi S/o Nazir Ahmad Reshi R/o Kehnusa Bandipora. Accordingly Case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up.
