Bandipora police arrested a drug peddler at Pethkote

Bandipora, April 07 : Bandipora Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler at Pethkote and recovered large quantity of Charas from his possession.

In a statment issued today, officials said continuing its war against the menace of drugs arrested a drug peddler at Pethkote and recovered large quantity of Charas from his possession.

"Acting on a specific information, a police party of Police station Pethkote led by SHO P/S Pethkote under the supervision of DYSP Hqrs Bandipora Dr Mohmmad Idress, during naka checking at Pethkote Bandipora arrested one person along with consignment of Charas," statment reads. The accused has been identified as Ab Rashid Gojer S/o Ab Rehman Gojer R/o Yali Pethkote. 

During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the accused drug peddler was selling the drugs to youths of the area, especially in and around Mantrigan/ Pethkote at exorbitant rates & make them drug addicts. Accordingly case FIR No. 11/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Pethkote and further investigation has been taken up. General public of the area have appreciated this swift action of police against the social menaces. 
Bandipora Police requested people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help police in eradicating the menace of drugs.
