Bandipora, July 19: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Friday reviewed the arrangements for upcoming Independence Day function here at a meeting of line departments.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tajamul, District Heads of various departments, officers of Army, CRPF and Police besides other senior officers of the district.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on arrangements to be put in place at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Bandipora, the venue for the National function, including security, seating, transportation, refreshments, car parking, accommodation, barricading, seating, installation of PAS, tents, drinking water, electricity, cleanliness, medicare, illumination, refreshment and prizes.
DDC asked the departments to make advance arrangements entrusted to them to ensure smooth celebration of the function. It was informed that the function will start with the playing ofShehnai Vadan by the artists of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR). The chief guest will hoist national flag and will take salute on the march-past to be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and school children.
Cultural programmes shall also be presented by the school children which will be followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The DDC was informed that similar functions shall also be organised at sub division levels in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure adequate arrangements of security, sanitation, healthcare, electricity, drinking water etc, to make the event a success.
The Information department was assigned the management of the Public Address System to be installed at the venue besides proper publicity to the event.
Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza directed for close coordination among the concerned departments for a smooth and successful function. Several committees were constituted to oversee different arrangements to be put in place at the venue for the function.
