Bandipora admin constitutes committee to audit private schools

Bandipora, 07 March: After complaints against private schools charging hefty admission fee in Bandipora, Chief Education Officer Bandipora Tuesday constituted a committee to audit and inspect the schools to check the illegal act.

            According to an order, Chief Education Officer Bandipora Ab Majid Malik constituted a 05-member team headed by Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Bandipora Ab Rashid Lone to audit and inspection of schools regarding the issue.

            “Complaints are pouring in from various social quarters regarding charging of hefty amounts on account of admission fee and other miscellaneous charges by private Schools,” reads the order.

            “In view of the complaints, committee comprising of the 05 Officers and officials is hereby constituted to look into the matter and submit detailed report/recommendations about the substance of the complaints after proper examination/audit of the relevant records”.

            Earlier Kashmir Convener reported that many schools in Bandipora are charging admission fee illegally in contravention to the existing laws.

Chief Education Bandipora said that a stringent action will be taken against the schools.

The parents have also urged the authorities to ask school managements to issue clear notification that they have not charged any fee from guardians in lieu of admission fee and if so charged, same shall be reimbursed.
