Authorities compelling us to take Covid vaccines, allege ICDS workers

Srinagar, Feb 13 (KNO): Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) employees from different areas of Kashmir on Saturday alleged that authorities are compelling them to take Covid vaccines.
They said that every day we are being asked to take Covid vaccines, otherwise you will face the music. They said that if 83 percent health workers at GMC Srinagar haven't taken Covid vaccine and no action hasn't been taken against them, then why lower rung employees’ likes workers and helpers are being made victims.
They said added that if authorities have to take action then they must take action against health workers who refused to take the vaccines.
“Government must take cognizance of the issue at an earliest, otherwise we can use other route,” they said. Deputy director ICDS Kashmir Bilkees Jan, said that it is mandatory to take Covid vaccine as “we are going to open Anganwadi centres.” However, she denied allegations that they are being compelled to do so.
“We are motivating them and clearing their doubts that taking vaccine is safe, she said, adding that we can't risk children by opening centres without vaccinating our employees
