Baramulla, Oct 11 :  The Aseem Foundation, a Pune-based NGO, successfully concluded a comprehensive three-day workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Chinar Yuva and Sanctorum Institution in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The workshop, led by faculty from IIT Bombay and organized under the supervision of the Aseem Foundation team, provided students with foundational and practical knowledge in cutting-edge technological fields.

Over the first two days, the IIT Bombay instructors covered core concepts in robotics, artificial intelligence, and data science. The sessions were conducted by a trio of experts Siddharth (Electronics, Robotics, Software), Shakti (Mechatronics and Robotics), who has extensive experience with drones and is currently working on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Shantanu (Computer Science, AI & Data Science), with a background in robotics, image processing, and software development.

The faculty reported an highly engaged and capable cohort of students. Reflecting on the experience, they stated, “It has been amazing to work with the students in Kashmir, who are sharp-minded and eager to learn. They not only enjoyed the sessions but demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for the material.” They noted that the students showed significant interest and possess the potential to pursue more advanced AI studies. The team also praised students from the Sanctorum Institution for their brilliant learning abilities and active participation.

Sarang Gosavi, President of the Aseem Foundation, emphasized the critical importance of such initiatives. “Artificial Intelligence is the most transformative tool of this generation. At the Aseem Foundation, we believe the future belongs not to those who merely use AI, but to those who understand, shape, and harness its power to solve real-world problems,” Gosavi stated. “This workshop is designed to move students from being passive observers to becoming active participants in the AI revolution.”

President Gosavi highlighted that many students’ current exposure to AI is often limited to science fiction or end-user applications, creating a gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

He outlined the workshop’s core objectives as a proactive solution to Demystify AI: Replace fear and hype with clarity and understanding Bridge the Theory-Practice Divide: Move from textbook definitions to hands-on creation; Inspire Purpose-Driven Innovation: Show how AI can be a force for good in their communities and future careers and Foster Future-Ready Skills: Equip students with the mindset and foundational skills needed to thrive in an AI-augmented world.
