As Schools Open in Gurez Valley, Army welcomes Students to make the Day memorable

Bandipora, March 13: The Indian Army stationed in snowbound Kanzalwan village of Gurez valley on Monday organised a function to welcome students as the schools opened after a gap of two years.

An official said  after missing 2 years of school,  children of Kanzalwan in a landmark event returned to school again. " The children in the process have after a two year hiatus gotten an opportunity to meet and socialise with their friends and showcase their talent in a public forum'. 

He said to make this day even more eventful and memorable an event called   "School Fir Se Chale Hum" was organised at Kanzalwan on Sunday. "This celebration marked an end of the lockdown or even the pandemic wherein the students performed dance numbers, songs both in Shina and Hindi language". 

Officials said the success of the event could be gauged by the smiling and happy faces of the children which in itself was a big win for the army in the area. The event culminated with lunch and sweets distribution organised by Army.

 This celebration was a joint effort of Army and school teachers on request of students. Children enjoyed the celebration and the event strengthened the bond between students, their parents, teachers and Army.
Importantly the event was symbolic picture of progressiveness of society and increasing  bond between AWAM and Jawan.
