ARTO Bandipora Conducts Extensive Traffic Enforcement Drive
Bandipora, December 10: On the directions of the Transport Commissioner J&K, Team ARTO Bandipora conducted a district-wide traffic checking drive during which 200 vehicles were inspected, and multiple challans were issued for various violations.
The enforcement resulted in 41 compoundable challans, amounting to ₹49,000 in fines. The drive specifically targeted key traffic violations that pose serious risks to public safety.
The checking focused on high-risk offences including riding two-wheelers without helmets, driving four-wheelers without seat belts, operating vehicles without functional speed-limiting devices, wrong or unauthorized parking leading to obstruction and congestion, and driving without valid motor insurance, a violation that also leaves accident victims uncompensated.
The ARTO Bandipora team emphasised that such targeted enforcement drives are aimed at deterring habitual violators, creating visible deterrence on roads, and reinforcing that non-compliance with traffic rules will result in financial penalties and legal action.
