Army’s Vishal Bhandral Memorial Volleyball Premier League- 2019 concludes
Bandipora, 23 July: The Army's Vishal Bhandral Memorial Volleyball Premier League- 2019 concludes on Tuesday at Bapora village.
The fifteen days long Volleyball Premier League organized by Army’s 14RR at Bapora village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora District and was inaugurated on July 09. The final match was played between the Subline Chitteybandy and Hassan Sports Bapora. Both the teams showcased their immense talent but Subline Chitteybandy performed better and won the final match.
An official said that Army organised Capt Vishal Bhandral Memorial Volleyball Premier League- 2019 with an aim to build a strong bonding between the Youth of Kashmir and Indian Army through sports.
The tournament that had started on July 06 received an overwhelming response of over 20 teams from various villages under the 14RR. Besides, cash prizes, sports kits etc were awarded to the players by Commander Brigade Vivek Narang, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The champion team and the runners up team were awarded cash prizes of Rs 15000 and Rs 10000 each and best player 3000 by commander 05 Sec.
The event was also attended by Commanding Officer 14RR, company commanders and a large number of village elders of nearby villages. Tea and refreshments were provided at the end during which youths and Army personnel interacted on various local issues.
All the villagers and youth were appreciative of the efforts being put in by Army in the region and requested for more such events in future too.
