Army rescue team saves two civilian after Bear Attack in Dachigam Forests

Dachigam, Aug 22: The two individuals were attacked by a bear in the Dagwan area of Dachigam Srinagar City leaving them Seriously injured and in need of immediate medical attention following information about the incident.Jawans of Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles acted without delay and reached the affected individuals providing crucial assistance at a critical moment Said a local Manzoor Ahmad.

The first incident took place on July 26, when an individual was seriously injured in a bear attack On receiving information, Army personnel immediately reached the injured person, provided essential first aid and facilitated his safe evacuation for further medical treatment.

The second incident occurred on August 22, when another individual sustained serious injuries following a bear attack in the same area. Acting swiftly, troops of 50 Rashtriya Rifles reached the spot, provided immediate medical assistance and ensured the injured individual was evacuated without delay for specialised treatment.

The injured person was subsequently shifted to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, where he could receive further medical care.

Locals appreciated the swift response and humanitarian assistance provided by the Army personnel during both incidents. They said the timely intervention helped ensure that the injured received immediate attention at a critical moment and were safely transported to a medical facility.

The Army’s response highlights its continued commitment to standing by civilians during emergencies, beyond its operational responsibilities. The prompt action also reflects the professionalism, preparedness and sense of responsibility of the Rashtriya Rifles personnel deployed in the area.

The incidents underline the need for residents, visitors and Bakerwal communities to remain vigilant while travelling through areas adjoining forests and wildlife habitats, particularly around the Dachigam landscape, and to immediately alert the concerned authorities in case of any wildlife-related emergency.
