Gurez, January 04: Indian Army stationed at Kanzalwan on Tuesday organised a poetry competition for children amid heavy snowfall in the valley.
An official spokesperson said the initiative was launched to engage the children in productive activity amid heavy snowfall in the area.
He said the children enthusiastically participated in the online competition and turned it into a grand event in the area where internet services boomed a year back only. “The mind and imagination of children reached its peak and a variety of topics were covered by these children through their writing skills”. More than 40 children participated in the event.
The innovative way of engaging children in a constructive manner was highly praised not only by the teachers but also by the parents. “ It was the first of its kind venture to adopt technology along with culture in this unexplored paradise beyond the valleys”.
