Army organises Jashn-e-Kashmir at Ajas
Bandipora, October 26: Army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifle stationed at Ajas camp organised Jashn-e-Kashmir festival under the aegis of Hq 3 sector at higher secondary school Ajas in continuation with its efforts to reach out the public.
An official spokesperson said the event was so designed to be a mix of village games to include slow cycle race, lemon & spoon race, Jalebi race, sack race, knock the glass, ring throw, baloon shooting, kick the ball, sazas, bull ride & many more which enthralled everyone. “In addition, Sufi singing, patriotic songs by kids, traditional/ folk dance by a troupe, raffle draw & demonstration of martial arts by the very famous international sports icon md faisal rather & his team, in which self defence for women was also shown”.
He said the event witnessed a footfall of 1000 plus people with unprecedented participation from all the nearby villages. “The aim of the event was also to promote peace & a healthy lifestyle among the locals.
Second-in-Command, 13 RR Bn awarded the winners of all games and also felicitated the participants during the closing ceremony by strictly following all covid-19 precautions.
J&K Govt officials, senior citizens from all villages attended the event. The response from all locals was overwhelming. The village elders were very appreciative of the Indian army's efforts to make the event a grand success & also requested for more such events in the future.
