Army Distributes Blankets to Gujjar-Bakkarwal Families in Rajouri
Rajouri, Apr 4: In a humanitarian outreach initiative, the Indian Army at Samote distributed blankets to 15 Gujjar and Bakkarwal families in the Gadyog area of Rajouri district. The assistance was aimed at supporting the nomadic families who frequently endure harsh weather conditions during their seasonal migration.
The Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities, known for their transhumant lifestyle, face extreme cold during their movement between summer and winter pastures. The distribution of blankets is expected to offer much-needed relief and comfort to these vulnerable groups.
This initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued efforts to engage with and support underprivileged communities in the region. By addressing basic needs and extending humanitarian aid, the Army is helping to improve the lives of nomadic families while strengthening civil-military relations in the border district.
