Poonch/Rajouri/Reasi, April 3, 2025: Indian Army organized an extensive medical patrol to provide healthcare services to the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities in multiple remote villages, including Sarsoti Harni, Jhalamang, Maniyal, Kharsun, and Upper Pargai in Poonch, Rajouri, and Reasi districts.

An official spokesperson said a team of Army medical personnel provided essential medical care, treatment, and free medicines to the local population, addressing a range of health concerns. Given the nomadic lifestyle of these communities, access to regular healthcare remains a challenge. The medical team also offered health awareness sessions to educate residents on preventive care and hygiene.

He said the initiative underscores the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to serving and supporting marginalized communities in remote and inaccessible areas. By conducting such medical outreach programs, the Army aims to enhance healthcare access, foster trust, and strengthen its bond with the local population.

The success of this medical patrol highlights the Army’s dedication to health awareness and welfare and has encouraged the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities to prioritize their well-being and seek timely medical attention.
