Army Commander Southern Command Calls On Telangana CM, Discusses Military-Civil Synergy

 

Telangana, Sept 6: Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, held a meeting with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday, marking an important step towards strengthening coordination between the military and civil administration in the state.

 

Defence spokesperson said the two leaders discussed key issues concerning military-civil fusion, internal security, veteran welfare, disaster response, and development initiatives.

 

Emphasis was laid on enhancing mechanisms for law and order, strengthening intelligence-sharing, and ensuring preparedness to counter emerging challenges.

 

According to spokesperson, they also explored ways to reinforce Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations by integrating military and civil resources for swift and effective response.

 

Veteran welfare was highlighted as a shared priority, with both sides agreeing to focus on initiatives aimed at safeguarding the dignity and wellbeing of ex-servicemen and their families.

 

Spokesperson said the Chief Minister appreciated the Indian Army’s efforts in providing timely humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, acknowledging its vital role in supporting civil administration.

 

Lt Gen Seth reaffirmed Southern Command’s commitment to the people of Telangana, stressing that the Army remains not only a pillar of national security but also a partner in the state’s development and welfare.

 

The meeting, officials said, reaffirms the Indian Army’s resolve to achieve robust military-civil integration across the entire spectrum of engagement in Telangana.
