APS Damana’s ‘Studio Oasis’ Painting Exhibition Concludes
Srinagar, Jan 31: The two-day painting exhibition, 'Studio Oasis – Creativity Blooms Here,' hosted by Army Public School Damana, concluded Wednesday with a lively valedictory ceremony and workshop.
In collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), the event took place at the Academy's K L Saigal Hall. The initiative aimed to provide a platform for young artists to refine their skills and express their creativity.

Padma Shri Mohan Singh Slathia, a versatile artist known for exceptional work in Dogri Language, Art, and Literature, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Lt Col Randeep Singh Slathia, SO School, was the Guest of Honour.
He said that the event witnessed the gracious presence of Principal APS Damana, Pushpinder Kaur, and Popinder Singh, Sr Editor and Exhibition Officer JKAACL.
“Students and teachers from schools under Cluster I, Tiger Div, and CBSE hubs of learning attended the event, along with 200 students from the host school. The two-day exhibition showcased artistic work from almost 40 students of classes IX to XII. Day I featured the display of budding artists' works, while on Day II, students presented their artistic skills by drawing and painting various sketches on the spot,” he added.
Participants were honoured with Certificates of Appreciation by Special Guest Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary JKAACL, on the culmination day. “Bharat Singh Manhas motivated amateur artisans to stay optimistic, focused, and leverage opportunities given in NEP 2020. Sr Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, Additional In-charge, Exhibition Officer, appreciated the artistic sensibility of the young artists,” he added.
“Brig Vivek Puri, SM Chairman APS Damana, expressed profound admiration for the exceptional talent displayed by the students. Mrs Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana, commended the students for their outstanding work, appreciating their creativity and depth of expression,” the spokesperson added.
The event served as a valuable stepping stone for aspiring artists, providing them with an opportunity to learn, gain exposure, and receive constructive feedback on their work. All participants were treated to light refreshments by JKAACL. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem.
