BANDIPORA, May 13: Government Boys Middle School Gamroo in Bandipora on Wednesday organised an anti-drug awareness rally under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) to promote awareness against substance abuse among students and the local community.

The rally was conducted in and around the locality under the supervision of the school administration, with participation from a large number of students, staff members and civil society representatives.

Participants carried messages promoting a drug-free society and raised awareness about the social and health impacts of substance abuse. Organisers said the initiative aimed to sensitise both the younger generation and the wider community about the growing threat of drug addiction.

School authorities said the programme was organised to encourage collective responsibility in addressing the issue and to involve students and community members in awareness efforts.

Following the rally, an anti-drug pledge was administered on the school premises, where students, teachers and local residents pledged to support campaigns against drug abuse and contribute towards building a drug-free society.

Officials and participants highlighted the importance of community participation and educational outreach in tackling the increasing challenge of substance abuse among youth.
